New Irrigation Zones: Update Your Blowout Estimate
New irrigation zones can change the work needed at closing. Tell the office about this year's additions before relying on last year's count or price, even if the main lawn looks unchanged.
Add new irrigation zones to your records
Ask the installer for the zone numbers, labels and areas served. Include any controller, supply or accessory changes. Keep that handover with your previous closing notes. A garden extension can add equipment that the office will not know about unless you mention it.
Separate additions from other changes
A renamed zone or a few moved sprinkler heads is not automatically an extra zone. List what was added and what was altered, and mark uncertain details for checking. If an old zone was disconnected, say that too so the service count can be confirmed accurately.
Check the estimate before the visit
Send the updated list and ask the office to confirm the work and price. New equipment may also change access requirements. Keep the revised quote with the booking so the technician and the person arranging entry are working from the same current information.
