Do You Need to Be Home for a Sprinkler Blowout?

Whether you need to be home for a sprinkler blowout depends on access to the equipment. Check the arrangement with the office before leaving, particularly if the controller or water supply is indoors.

Check access before staying home for a sprinkler blowout

List the controller, supply equipment and any separate watering systems. Tell the office which locations are locked or indoors. A connection in the front yard does not prove that everything needed is outside. App access also does not solve a locked equipment room.

Arrange someone who can help

If a friend, relative or property contact will attend, check that they can reach every required area. Give them the appointment window and office number. Also explain whether they may approve extra work or need to contact you first. That decision should be clear before the technician asks.

Confirm the plan before you leave

Ask the provider to accept the absent-owner arrangement. Share any temporary entry information through the agreed channel. After the visit, read the completion notes for exceptions or unfinished work. Seeing a service vehicle or receiving an arrival message does not tell you whether the full job was completed.

Questions and answers

Common questions

Does a Wi-Fi controller mean I can be absent?

Not by itself. Physical equipment access still needs to be agreed.

Can I leave permanent door codes in a public note?

No. Use the provider's agreed private access channel and limit what you share.

Request irrigation closing

Call us with your address, known zone count and any access questions. We can discuss the work and confirm an available appointment.
