Confirm Your Zone Count for a Blowout Quote
Your zone count for a blowout quote should describe the installed watering zones, not the number printed on the controller. Start with service records and flag anything that still needs checking.
Find the zone count for a blowout quote
Look for an installation plan, a recent service report or a labelled controller schedule. Check that it matches the current equipment. If the system is already closed or its condition is uncertain, leave it off. You do not need to restart it just to gather information for an estimate.
Allow for gaps and new zones
A label numbered one to eight may include an unused position. A garden zone added later may be missing altogether. List the active numbers you know and mark the others as questions. Report a non-working connected zone too; do not simply remove it from the count.
Send the office a useful summary
For example, you might have six confirmed lawn zones, one garden zone to check and a controller in the garage. Send a readable photo of the label if you have one. Ask the office to confirm the service count and price before treating an estimate as the final amount.
