Locked Gate on Blowout Day: Arrange Backyard Access

A locked gate on blowout day can leave equipment out of reach. Describe the route when you book and confirm who can open each gate or enclosure during the visit.

Prevent a locked gate on blowout day

Tell the office which entrance to use and what equipment is beyond it. Mention a second gate or locked enclosure along the route. On a shared property, the gate visible from the street may not be the right entrance. Clear directions save time and avoid confusion.

Report restrictions before the visit

Mention steps, narrow routes, construction or stored materials that could affect access. Ask the provider whether the arrangement will work. Do not promise equipment clearance from a photo alone. If you have not checked the route, say so and discuss what needs confirming.

Keep an access contact reachable

A lock can jam or a route can become blocked on the day. Make sure the technician has a number for someone who can respond. Ask how unfinished work will be reported if entry cannot be resolved. Keep the access plan within the areas you are authorized to provide.
