New Planting and Irrigation Blowout: Timing the Work

New planting and irrigation blowout can pull your schedule in different directions. List the new trees and beds separately, then discuss their watering needs before settling on the closing arrangements.

Connect new planting and irrigation blowout plans

Find out whether the new plants use a lawn zone, a dedicated drip zone or a separate hose timer. Ask the installer about any uncertain connection. A planting invoice may describe the care needed without showing the irrigation layout. Give both pieces of information to the contractor arranging closing.

Ask about the plants you actually have

Speak with the nursery or landscaper who knows the planting. Species, soil conditions and planting dates can affect the care plan. Pass that advice to the irrigation provider. This is more useful than assuming every new tree needs the same schedule or that lawn closing covers separate watering equipment.

Assign the final winter tasks

Choose who will confirm that extra watering has ended and who will store or service the separate equipment. Keep a note for each system. Closing the lawn does not tell a gardener whether a new tree-watering setup has been dealt with, so make that handover clear.

Questions and answers

Common questions

Can the lawn and beds have different plans?

Should I leave a zone operating after closing?

Do not do so without an agreed system-specific plan from the contractor.
